Gundam is definitely over-represented in terms of new model kit releases with modern, user-friendly engineering (better proportions, snap-fit assembly, proper colors, etc.) I believe I posted about this before when someone asked, but there are tons of sci-fi/mecha/fantasy kits from both Bandai and other manufacturers that aren't Gunpla-related.

Bandai LM HG #007 EVA-01 Test Type (Launch Pad Ver) "Evangelion" It's a little lacking in the articution department, but it looks good, and what articulation it has feels nice and steady. A lot of us don't have the stamina or skills to deal with vintage kits, so it's too bad newer kits for the less-popular classics aren't as prevalent.
